Gov. Holcomb Extends "Stay-at-Home" Order

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb said Friday during a news conference that he will sign an executive order on Monday to extend the stay-at-home order for two more weeks.

The previous order expired on Monday, April 6, at 11:59 p.m.

This new stay-at-home order, or "Hunker Down Hoosiers," as Holcomb calls it, will be extended by two weeks.

Gov. Holcomb said there would be "some tweaks" to the new stay-at-home order but he wouldn't elaborate until Monday when it will take effect.

Indiana's public health emergency declaration will be extended by 30 days, taking Indiana to May 3.

Holcomb also announced that President Donald Trump has also approved a state of disaster for Indiana.

On Friday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 24 additional deaths related to COVID-19, which marks a solemn milestone of the largest number of deaths in a 24-hour period to date.

The death toll has now topped the 100-mark.
